Welcome to Soaring Eagle Ecology Center (SEEC)
Soaring Eagle Ecology Center (SEEC) is located in beautiful Red Feather Lakes on approximately 20 acres directly south and west of Red Feather Lakes Elementary School. In a pristine montane forest environment adjacent to Roosevelt National Forest, it is the perfect setting for environmental education. At over 8,400 feet, SEEC OFFERS ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION WITH ALTITUDE!
SEEC's mission is to offer hands-on, outdoor education to promote understanding and appreciation of the natural world.
SEEC has been a proud member of the Colorado Nonprofit Association since 2011.

Last summer a number of kids built next boxes for SEEC to use as part of the Larimer County bird project. This photo was taken 5 days ago showing a female Tree Swallow with her hatchlings inside the nest box Sophi and her grandmother built.
Paramedic Bobby Hill presented a fabulous (and potentially life-saving) program for kids on What to do in Emergencies. Thank you so much. We are all looking forward to your follow-up program - What to do in Emergencies - Part 2 on July 28th. Thank you for keeping us safe!
The Wonders of Pines program was truly amazing. Special thanks to the Pinecone Lady, Renee Galeano-Popp, for sharing her expertise and wonderful pine cone collection with the kids. It was an informative and magical morning.
Last summer, kids at Soaring Eagle Ecology Center (SEEC) built a number of nest boxes for secondary cavity nest birds in the Red Feather Lakes area. Five of the boxes were installed this spring and they all have bird activity this month.
Many thanks to photographer, Sue Chesnut, for a fantastic photography workshop for kids. Sue's expertise and passion for both nature and photography are inspiring and contagious.
Two big thumbs up to Darlene and Judy for an informative, fun program on bats and owls. The program finale included the kids dissecting barn owl pellets. What a great way to learn about wildlife!
SEEC would like to give Brock McArdle and his wonderful working wildlife K9, CASH, a big thank you for leading a program for kids at Soaring Eagle Ecology Center yesterday. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate and the program had to be shortened.
The weather was wonderful, the fish were biting and it was another great Kids' Fishing Fest at West Lake. Many thanks to Chris Carroll and all of the fabulous volunteers who helped make this fishy event such a success.See you all next year.
